You can go for a tiered cake with layers of light sponge soaked in Italian dessert liqueur and your choice of cream flavouring in-between. Then topped with fresh cream and decorated just as you like. Cream filling flavours include chocolate, coffee, Nutella, pistacchio, lemon. chantilly cream, hazelnut and more.
Or you can choose the traditional wonderful Italian ‘mille foglie’ cake. Literally translates as ‘a thousand leaves’ because of the layers of wafer thin sweet pasty which gives this delicious cake a delicate crunch. Layered with cream and fruits inbetween it’s absolutely perfect for a summer’s evening – a magical cross between dessert and cake all rolled into one!
Considered to be the finale to an incredible Italian wedding feast, our cakes are always placed on a beautifully decorated table with lots of candles so perfect photo opportunity before you and your guests enjoy with a glass of bubbles.
As part of our comprehensive wedding planning service we will discuss your wedding banquet in detail. The wedding cake is an important part of the wedding banquet and the ceremonial ‘cutting of the cake’ is a lovely part of the day.
The perfect accompaniment for an Italian wedding cake is a glass of finest Italian Prosecco. Many of our wedding venues are, or are associated with, vineyards so it can be nice to toast with the local Prosecco for an authentic experience. You can even buy a crate and take it home to remind you of the moment.
